Rose Donaldson

My name is Rose Donaldson, and I am the Director of Stepping Stones Preschool.  I have been working in education for 20 years in Europe and here in Australia for nearly 4 years.  I am recognised in Australia as an Educator, and next year I will be working towards my degree in Early Childhood and Education.

I worked in a special needs unit for nearly 6 years in Germany while living on a British Army Camp.  When I left I took some time off, and then returned to Berlin, Germany to work as an English Co-ordinator, eventually setting up 3 preschools, writing the curriculums, as well as having my own group of children to teach.  In 2009 I became a Principal for a bilingual German/English Preschool in the centre of Berlin, where I worked until 2011.

I came to Australia in July 2011, and married my husband Charlie.  I have one daughter called Naomi who is in her middle 20;s, although she lives in the UK.  Charlie and I have 2 Border Collie Cross dogs called Hendrix and Benson, as well as 2 cats called Buddha and Henry.

I am dedicated to the well-being and education of children, and strongly believe with a good, well balanced program of education that all children are more confident to enter their school years.

Melanie Stafford

My name is Melanie Stafford, I am the Principal of the preschool.  I will be in Big Learners Boulevard.

I am originally from this area, although I moved to the Gold Coast when I was 10 years old, where I grew up and completed year 12 at Varisty College.

My parents and my one older sister still on the Gold Coast, which is great for me to go to and spend my holidays there.

Despite the fact that I do not have any pets or children myself, many of my close friends and family do, which I have looked after over the past few years.

I have most of my extended family living in the area, which I am very thankful for as I get to spend a lot of time with them, and I am a strong believer that family are the most important aspect of life.

When I turned 19, I moved back to this area for a more relaxed lifestyle that best suited me.  A year after moving back I started a job at and Early Learning and Childcare Centre.  Here, I completed my Certificate 3 in Early Childhood and Education.  After completing my studies I worked in other un-related work places, however always found myself desiring to get back into Early Childhood Education.

This year will be my third year working in the industry, and I believe I possess the experience necessary to give your child the education and confidence for their future year in school.  I am also furthering my studies this studying my Diploma in Childhood Education.

I enjoy having a creative, fun loving and structured atmosphere in the workplace.  My goal is for all children to gain the best education out of each day they have at Stepping Stones Preschool, and to be always enjoying themselves in everything they do.

Caitlin Whelan
